Mindset & Physical Diseases

Does your Mindset Affect your Physical Health?

As a Mindset Expert and Coach, I have often thought about and wondered how our Mindset, and what we think about, affects our health, and I have watched people retire, and feel as though they had nothing to live for any longer, and they physically became very sick, and very shortly died. I often wondered, what is the correlation with our thoughts, and what we think? Could it be possible that when the Bible says, "As a Man Thinketh, so is he" that it meant it literally?

Now let me be clear, I am not here to beat you over the head with scriptures, or try to convince you of anything biblical. What I am here to do, is help you consider another perspective, and how our mindset and what we think could possibly be linked to our physical sicknesses and death.  I have been doing a lot of research over the past 20 years, and have come to love the writings of Dr. Henry W. Wright, and have long admired the great work he did. I am forever greatful to have been able to read his findings, and learn from him and his vast wisdom. I do not share this information I am about to share to tell you that your doctor is completely off base, or that you should fire your doctor. There are so many great things, and medical breakthroughs in todays modern Medicine and medical research.

I want to bring you back to an old idea that I was introduced to Years ago, and that has changed the way I look at so many things in life. I was always told to do it right the first time by my dad, and I never saw the reasoning behind treating a symptom. I feel like treating a symptom is like putting a bandaid on a broken leg, and hoping it will heal on it's own. How about just airing up a flat tire without finding the reason it went flat?  Those simple things don't make much sense to us, as the tire will go flat again if you didn't find, and fix the hole or leak in it. Now you could carry an air pump with you everywhere, and just keep airing it up, or you could find the leak, and repair it, and not have to worry about it again.

Now let's consider the possibility of Mindset, and Physical Diseases!  How does, or how could, your mind dictate your health?  I used to think my curiousity about such a thing was rediculous. Now, I feel like there are so many research articles, and other medical authorities that are backing up the idea that what you think often affects your overall physical health. Obviously if you cut your leg with a chainsaw, you should seek immediate medical attention, and get it taken care of, and not just stop and think about how it doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt, etc... You will probably bleed to death in minutes depending on the severity of the injury.

I'd like to bring you back to a spiritual perspective, and one that so many people want to avoid. The spiritual Mindset, and our relationship is one that so many people don't want to talk about, so this article is my personal opinion, but I bring it out as fact, because I have witnesses it personally.  My goal is not to offfend you, or make you feel upset in any way, but just to bring you another perspective and possible healing from within. What I mean by that is, where are you spiritually, and how is your personal relationship with GOD. You can call him by whatever name you want to, maybe you like the "Higher Power" or "Man Upstairs" better... But how is it between you and Him?  Do you have a clear line of communication with Him? Have you considered the possibility that our Physical health may be directly affected by our Spiritual relationship, and walk with Christ?  I want to share a few insights and some findings from some research... Don't hate me for this, as it isn't all my own research. I study other great researchers findings, and look at what they have uncovered.  If you don't have an open Mindset, or even want to see other perspectives, please save yourself the time and agrivation, and stop reading now. Go find something that interests you more if you don't want to know my expert opinion.

Let's Talk about Spiritual Discernment when Dealing with Disease

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”   -3 John 1:2  KJV

“Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.”   -Psalm 103:3  KJV

Some people think that getting a disease is like standing under the wrong tree at the wrong time and just getting nailed. They wonder, “Why did this happen to me?”

Why did it happen to you? Why did you get sick? It’s time to discover the answer to this agonizing question. There is so much misunderstanding in both the medical community and the church about the causes of disease in mankind. Yet crucial answers to man’s diseases and problems have been laid out in the Bible for over thirty-five hundred years. Unfortunately, most people don’t read the Bible to discover those answers.

What does the medical community think about the root cause of disease? The truth is that for many diseases, even doctors don’t know why they happen. Just like the church, the medical community is at a loss as to how and why many diseases begin. That is why medical books list some diseases with “unknown etiology.” The word etiology refers to origin. It comes from the Greek and means “root cause” or “giving a reason for.” “Unknown etiology” simply means, “We don’t know the root cause of this disease.”

If the Bible gives us the promises of health and healing listed at the beginning of this devotional, why are Christians suffering from diseases like cancer, diabetes, hypertension, Crohn’s disease, lupus, and depression? To find the answer, we are going to take a journey together. We’re going to expose the spiritual roots of disease and discover the way to live in wholeness—spirit, soul, and body.

In my journey to understand disease, I have discovered that Western medicine often concentrates more on managing the symptoms of disease and disorders through drugs, therapies, and surgeries. With this method, it’s all about disease management, keeping the disease under control. Then you have Eastern medicine, with its “natural” or alternative treatments, which attempt to manage the pathways that produce the symptoms of disease. But neither of these approaches represent true freedom from the disease itself.

Dr. Henry W. Wright spent decades researching the roots of diseases, which are the issues activating the pathways that produce the symptoms. This is important for those who want to know why they are sick. As intelligent creatures, doesn’t it make sense that we get down to the root cause that activates the pathways to disease in the first place? From there we can uproot it!

Now, I want you to know that I am not against doctors as I said prior. I have been to doctors when necessary and I greatly appreciate their skills. We should never avoid seeking medical help, especially if we have a life-threatening disease or injury. I am also not against science. Dr. Henry W. Wright spent decades studying what medical science knows about the intricate human body that God created. We're all indebted to what science has taught us concerning the body and disease. I may not always be in agreement with medicine’s protocols for disease management, yet I am still grateful for what I have learned from scientific observation. But I want to assure you that I am not into disease management alone. I am into disease prevention and eradication, if at all possible, by God’s help!

I want to make sure you understand what I learned from Dr. Henry W. Wrights' studies and experience, and if you read his writings, he attributes about 20 percent of diseases and syndromes to the general effects of our fallen world, such as genetics or environmental factors. What is the cause of the other 80 percent of diseases? Dr. Henry W. Wright and I believe they have a spiritual root. They are a planned event or attack against us by the enemy, Satan, and his evil kingdom. Yet, the spiritual aspect of disease is overlooked by us, our medical providers, and in many cases, even the church. Much of the Christian church has somehow forgotten about the enemy, who is after our destruction. It has forgotten that we need discernment to wage a spiritual war against that enemy, and to expose him for who he is - the destroyer.

The good news is that you and I have the ability to have discernment. Discernment does not come by instinct; it is given by the Holy Spirit. Discerning the true reason behind disease is available to us through God’s Word. Dr. Henry W. Wright through God’s leading and grace, spent decades tracking what causes or often triggers disease. As a result of his research and knowledge, there have been literally thousands of people worldwide who have been freed of specific diseases and syndromes because they dealt with the root issues causing the manifestations or symptoms. With the truth of God's word, we can overcome this planned attack, called disease, and live the healthy and long lives God has promised us. Freedom from disease can be ours.

What Is Truth?

I believe God wants to bring us truth and freedom in our spirits, our souls, and our bodies.

“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”  -1 Thessalonians 5:23

My prayer is that this journey of knowledge that we are taking together, will fill you with peace, and produce the understanding and wisdom that will set you free from all manner of disease.

Now, What is truth? In today’s world, even in most of Christianity, truth is considered relative. It is diluted by denominational fragmentation in the church, and by the humanistic opinions of men and women in secular society. However, the Bible clearly tells us that truth in the Scriptures is God-inspired:

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness”  -2 Timothy 3:16

It is not open to personal interpretation:

“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation” -2 Peter 1:20

Since biblical truth is absolute, we should be able to study God’s Word together and come to the same conclusions, right? Wrong. Unfortunately, there are people in the church who believe we have “moved on” from believing that the Word of God is absolute and unchanging. If we have moved on to something “better,” then I have some legitimate questions! Why are we in such a mess today? Why are so many sons and daughters of the Father suffering from as much disease as the world is? Why do we have the same biological diseases, the same psychiatric problems?

The Bible is the Word of God. The Scriptures on healing are promises given over and over again by God in His Word. So, why are we seeing so few healings today? Did God’s promises change? Has His Word become fallible? Never.

I believe the promises of God are our sanity in this life and in standing against disease. If you take the promises out of the Bible, what do you have? Nothing for your faith. Nothing to believe with. Nothing to stand on.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”  -Romans 10:17

You hear God’s Word, faith rises within your spirit, and you embrace that faith. What is faith? “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is the substance of things that you cannot see right now. Faith is for today; faith is for right now. Healing and health are for right now.

What Is the Disconnect?

If God’s Word says that healing is the children’s bread (see, for example, Matthew 15:22–28), that Jesus paid for the curse on the cross (see Galatians 3:13), and that by His stripes or wounds we are healed (see Isaiah 53:5), then what has happened to us? Why do we still not see healings? Why does it appear that we are living under a curse? Christians don’t know the answer, and they get discouraged. Doubt creeps in, unbelief walks in, and the enemy rushes in.

Then, theologians come up with crazy doctrines as to why God doesn’t heal today because they have no answer for the people. They make up stuff that isn’t in God’s Word. Things like, “Healing ended with the first apostles,” or “God’s will is to test us through disease.”

God is not trying to kill you because in Hosea 4:6, He warns us, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” God’s people are suffering because they don’t have the knowledge that they need to be in health.

I did a brief language study of these words in Hosea. When God says, “My people are destroyed,” it’s actually in a present-tense form: “My people are being destroyed for lack of knowledge.” If the people of God are being destroyed, in the present tense, then this warning is not just for the Old Testament believers. The New Testament church is also being destroyed. The prophet Isaiah gave a similar warning: “Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge” (Isaiah 5:13).

I deal with New Testament saints who have diseases. I deal with New Testament saints who have issues of the soul. I deal with New Testament saints who have serious problems. And, for many of them, I know why. You need the knowledge to know why as well. As we continue this devotional, we will explore the primary reasons and their solutions.

Where Do Diseases Come From?

In the very Beginning of Time, back in the Garden of Eden, when Satan tempted Eve, he changed the word of God.

“Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”  -Genesis 3:1

After Eve assured him that there was only one tree that they couldn’t eat from, Satan challenged God’s word again.

“And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil”  -Genesis 3:4-5

Satan had not only added to God’s words, and he had also taken away from them. He said that God hadn’t really said they would die. Then, he presented the ultimate temptation - the same one that had gotten him thrown out of heaven - the desire to be just like God. (Read Isaiah 14:14.) He said, “Eve, if you eat this fruit, you will be as gods” (little g, little o, little d, little s). The real truth was, they would be as devils knowing good and evil. Up to this point, Adam and Eve didn't know what evil was. Everything surrounding them had been from God, and it was always good.

Eve longed to be as wise as God; she wanted to know everything. So, she broke off the fruit, ate it, and then handed it to her husband. As soon as they partook of the fruit, their spiritual eyes were opened, and at that moment, evil flooded them. When their eyes were opened, they saw their nakedness. Adam and Eve had enjoyed a close relationship with God, but now they were afraid of Him. Adam, son of God, was suddenly afraid of the One whom he had always walked with in the cool of the evening.

As evening approached, it was time for the Lord to meet with them. Adam turned to his wife and said, “It’s time for the Lord. Look at us. We are so evil. Let’s go hide.” So, they ran and hid in the bushes. The Lord came looking for them, and they weren’t there. He called out, “Where are you, Adam?” Finally, Adam had enough nerve to answer, “Here we are, Lord!” “Where, Adam?” “Out here in the bushes.” “Why are you out there in the bushes, Adam?” “Hiding from You, Lord.” “Why are you hiding from Me, Adam?” “Because, Lord, we are naked.”

Now, look at the words of the Lord in Genesis 3:11: “Who told thee that thou wast naked?” God knew why they were hiding, and He also knew the answer to His question. He knew who had interfered with His perfect creation, with the sole aim of bringing destruction. God knew who was giving Adam and Eve thoughts of fear, guilt, and shame. But He wanted to know if Adam knew who had come to destroy him and his perfect communion with God.

Thus began Adam and Eve’s journey of being flooded with all the temptations of Satan’s kingdom. When the first temptation came, they embraced it and followed it, and it became a part of their personalities. And so it has passed from generation to generation. Death has passed from generation to generation. Even those who did not sin in the same way that Adam and Eve did inherited the same curse of death. (read Romans 5:12–14) Disease also passed from generation to generation, and we are still battling temptation and disease today.

But God had another plan. He had a plan through His Son Jesus to redeem those who would love Him. His plan was for all who would choose not to listen to the devil. He had a plan for the people who would resist temptation. God gave us a plan for our salvation through Jesus Christ. He also gave us a plan to defeat the enemy in our lives. So, why aren’t Christians always following that plan? I will address that question next.

What Is the Root Cause of Disease?

So, what is the root cause of many of our diseases? From my research, and the studies I've read, I believe the root cause of around 80 percent of disease is spiritual and is the result of separation on one or more of three levels:

    1. Separation from God - from His person, His love, and His Word.

    2. Separation from yourself.

    3. Separation from others.

You need to follow this train of thought closely, because these separations are the spiritual root of so many diseases that plague us. If it's true, that about 80 percent of all disease involves these separations, then 80 percent of all healing begins with reconciliation to God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), reconciliation to yourself, and reconciliation to others.

Let me repeat: the beginning of healing starts with the restoration of your relationship with God, yourself, and others.

Mankind - including Christians - is diseased first of all because we are separated from God, His love, and His Word. We have to realign ourselves with God, and we must embrace the truth of the Father’s love for us. Do you really think God (The Father) would have sent His Son to die for all of us if He didn’t love us? Obviously Not, and Jesus showed us the deep love of the Father by dying on the cross for our eternal redemption.

The Bible assures us of God’s love:

“God is love.… And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him”  - John 4:8, 16

To be free and healed, you must believe God’s Word, and that He truly loves you.

Regarding separation from ourselves, over the last thirty years, I have seen thousands of people who have battled intensely with self-hatred, self-loathing, self-bitterness, and even guilt. These are deep-rooted lies from the enemy that carry with them many disorders, especially autoimmune diseases.

If this is your struggle, you must learn to accept yourself in your relationship with God, and love yourself as God sees you, not embracing the deception of self-hatred and guilt. God loves you! Matter fact, he Loves you Exactly as you are, and right where you are sitting right now! He declares it in His Word. Don't deny the truth of His love for you by believing the lies of the enemy.

You see, separation from others opens the door to spiritually rooted disease. The Word cautions us,

“Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled”  -Hebrews 12:15

Unforgiveness and bitterness can become a root deep inside you that defiles those around you and makes your body very susceptible to disease. Make peace with your brothers, your sisters, and anyone else who has injured you.

In all three of these spiritual separations, the enemy of our soul, finds a place to bring destruction, for

“the thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy”  -John 10:10

When we embrace the lies of Satan, we end up suffering at his hands. The Bible warns us not to be “ignorant of his devices”  -2 Corinthians 2:11)

That word “devices” means methods or practices - the ways he tries to destroy us. You need to know how the enemy is doing it. You need to understand his devices so that you can cut him off at the pass in your life!

The key roots of disease are in the elements of Satan’s kingdom of darkness: bitterness, accusation, envy and jealousy, fear, anxiety and stress, anger and hostility, rejection, shame, unloving spirits, self-hate, occultism, and addictions. One of My passions, is to pass on the truth about these spiritual roots of disease to as many people as I can.

God Still Has a Plan for You Here on Earth!

I have found that in many denominations and organizations, people resign themselves to sickness. They say that if we are sick and die, at least we know that we will be in a better place in heaven. Now, it’s true that our eternity with Christ is our great future. We have much to look forward to in eternity! But God still has plans for His people while they are on this earth, before it is their time to join Him in heaven. That is why Jesus prayed,

“Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven”  -Matthew 6:10

God has work, and plan for each of us to accomplish on this earth.

When I hear people say things like, heaven is a better place to be, my response is, “Your job is to make earth a better place as long as you are still here. That is your mandate and your calling.”

The apostle Paul wrote to the Philippian church about this very issue of living versus dying:

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.  -Philippians 1:21–24

We need you. We need each other. The world and those around you need you. We need your love. We need your prayers. We need your faith. We are not the same without you.

Embrace the Word of God. Believe what He desires for you in health and wholeness. Live the full life He has promised you. It Really comes back to your Mindset, and what you choose to believe. Are you here for a higher purpose or calling, or are you simply here to live for your own selfish desires?

Does God Allow Disease to Test Us

There are a lot of people who honestly believe that God is the one who brings disease to somehow test us or purify us. But the Bible says that God desires health for us. His Word is clear in 3rd John 2 where it says:

“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

Now, I want to ask you, is there anything more “all” than “all”? The apostle John says he wishes “above all things.” Jesus Himself stated, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly”  -John 10:10

That abundant life includes freedom from disease. I want you to understand something: God’s perfect will is not to heal you; His perfect will is that you don’t get sick to start with!

I often hear people tell me that their disease is the will of God, and I have to ask, “Why would God bring disease? Why would God destroy what He created?” When He looked down on Adam and Eve after the creation, He said, “It is very good.”  -See Genesis 1:31

He never said, “Look at those wonderful diseased beings that I have created!” So, no. God does not give Christians disease.

The Spirit-Soul-Body Connection

We Christians need to understand that we are triune beings. “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:23). We also must learn the truth of how the enemy attacks the whole man—our spirit, soul, and body.

When it says: “May the God of peace sanctify you wholly.” Note that the word here is not spelled H-O-L-Y, even though the word sanctified does mean “holy.” Instead, it is spelled W-H-O-L-L-Y. All of us, spirit, soul, and body, is to be sanctified for His glory.

Why is this important? You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body; you are a triune being. The body is like a mobile home—some of us have fancy roofs, some of us have thatched roofs, and some have no roofs at all. We like to focus on the outward part. There’s nothing wrong with managing your external house. After all, we paint our homes, put shutters on them, plant flowers around them, and enjoy the beauty.

But here's the real truth, and that is, the real you is not your physical body, no matter how much makeup or Mary Kay you use! Somehow, we forget this because that is what we see. We become the product of our five physical senses. However, you are impacted by more than just what you observe through those senses. You are also impacted from within, at the spirit level. That’s the part that too many people don’t understand. Our whole person, Soul, Mind, and Body must be made well.

In this day and age, we need wholeness centers. Places where we can be healed in our spirit, soul, and body. Where we can be healed in our relationships with God, ourselves, and others. Each local church should be a wholeness center where we are made whole. The medical world doesn’t understand God and how He desires to heal us and make us whole. When people today face sickness, they often just look to man to “fix” them from the effects of the kingdom of darkness with medicine and therapy. That’s not God’s best for His children. That’s merely the management of disease. We don’t want just the management of disease, but freedom from disease.

The wholeness God wants for all of us is defined in the Scripture where it says, “I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless.” The church should be taking care of the kingdom of God and putting it back in its place. But that is very difficult if we don’t understand the spirit, soul, and body, and if we don’t recognize that disease is a planned event from the enemy of our souls.

My desire is to open your eyes to God’s truth concerning freedom from disease. I want you to join me in this walk of freedom. I want you to embrace life. I want you to defeat everything that God hates. I don’t want to offer you a counterfeit of humanism—I want to offer you the truth from God’s Word. “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). I want you to live in freedom from the bondage and curse of disease. Satan may have his devices, or tactics, but God will show us how we can defeat him and be in health.

Take Control of Your Thoughts

Since we serve a God of grace and mercy, He is not going to leave us defenseless against Satan’s onslaught of thoughts and temptations. Jesus understands our battle against the enemy, because He battled him just as we do. You know your personal battles, so what are you going to do with the thoughts that come from the enemy and compete with the Word of God? You’re going to have to take them captive, or basically, just cast them down as an evil imagination. That’s what the Word directs you to do!

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.  -2 Corinthians 10:4-5

What does it mean to bring every thought into captivity? It means considering the origin of every thought you have, including every feeling, every emotion, every picture - everything that surges through your consciousness mind. Those feelings, apprehensions, and thoughts can cause biological manifestations. They may be a trap from the enemy, who then manipulates your biology. You become a disciple of error. But you’re not called by God to be a disciple of error; you’re called to be a disciple of truth.

How do you defeat error? You read, study, and meditate on God’s Word (ABSOLUTE TRUTH). Then, you recognize the source of your thoughts by how they measure against the truth. And you reject any thoughts that do not line up with His Word. You study the Word of God, you think and meditate it, and you live by the Word of God. As a result, you can use the Word of God to expose the spots and blemishes in your spirit and soul. No one can do this for you. You are the only one who can take back control of your Mind. You'll need to learn how to embrace the Word of God for yourself.

Unfortunately, for most people, the Devil knows God’s Word better than they do. When Satan tempted Jesus out in the wilderness, he quoted from the Psalms and Deuteronomy. Satan is banking on the fact that you won’t be familiar enough with the truth of God’s Word, so he can successfully tempt you to do his bidding, or think his thoughts. He can then control your thinking and blame you, as if that thought was original to you! So, you have the bad thought and the guilt of it - all from his hands. We can be so easily duped by the enemy! The Devil is so sly, and often comes unawares, and we think it is just us and how we feel.

When thoughts come to you that you are not loved by God, or that God has rejected you, take hold of those thoughts and ask yourself, “Where did these thoughts come from? Did they originate from the Word of God?” No, they didn’t, because God’s Word says that, as Christians, God dwells in us and loves us, and that nothing shall be able to separate us from His love. (You can read 1 John 4:15–16; Romans 8:38–39.)

We all need spiritual discernment concerning the source of our thoughts. Spiritual discernment requires examining the origin of a thought and where it came from. Thoughts also originate in your own mind. If your own thoughts don’t line up with the Word of God, cast them down in the same way!

If dread or fear comes to tempt you - like the fear of tomorrow, fear of man, fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of death, or any of the other four thousand-plus types of fear that may come to speak to you - you can go directly to the Word of God and declare, “That’s not from God. According to His Word, God has not given me the spirit of fear! I’m not listening to that any longer!” You take hold of it and you cast it down as an imagination.

God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  -2 Timothy 1:7

The lies from the enemy that you once meditated on will become a diminished part of your persona because you’re not focusing on them anymore. It will become easier and easier to cast down a lying thought from the enemy. You will understand it for what it is, you will cast it down, and you will move on. That is how you become an overcomer. No one else can do this for you. Only you can do this.

Casting down imaginations is a powerful weapon that God has given us to fight the enemy. Why would you ignore His help? That would be like a soldier going into battle and leaving his rifle behind. Cast down those imaginations and anything else that doesn’t measure up to the knowledge of God. What is the knowledge of God? It is power; it is love; and it is a sound mind!

Repentance and Sanctification

I want to talk briefly about repentance and sanctification, and the important roles in disease prevention or becoming free from disease that they play. We’re so busy chasing symptoms, we’re so busy chasing disease profiles, that we don’t even take into account why we got sick to begin with. As we have learned, we often need to deal with sin and spiritual or mindset issues that are affecting our hearts and minds before our healing can occur.

We experience repentance from our sins when we first turn to God to acknowledge Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection on our behalf. That is our salvation. As Christians, we need further repentance for things in our lives that aren’t of God. We need to allow God to change us. That is our sanctification. Sanctification is a lifelong process for the Christian where, through the glories and trials of life, and through our obedience to God, we learn to “walk in newness of life”

“That like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life”  -Romans 6:4

It would be great if, once we became Christians, we never sinned again, but that isn’t so. The book of 1 John tells us that Christians often still sin, but that God is always gracious to forgive our sins. (See 1 John 1:8–9.)

I want you to imagine going to the Father of all spirits, the Lord of creation, and saying, “Hey, Dad, I’m sorry. I come to You in Jesus’s name. Father, I’ve yielded to Satan’s law of sin. I’ve been following it, but I’ve hated it. I don’t want to do it anymore. As it says in Your Word, it’s not good for me. I come to You to take responsibility, and I repent to You for allowing the law of sin to control my life. Will You please forgive me?”

Is that hard? There’s no copay when you get that kind of prescription. No insurance is needed. Yet it may save you from incurable diseases.  Why not at least try to take back control of your mind, and renew it through his never dying, living Word of Truth.

Conviction, not Condemnation!

Now, it’s important that you don’t react to God’s truth about sin in your life by condemning yourself. We are convicted of our sins by the Holy Spirit in order to bring repentance and freedom, not condemnation.

The Holy Spirit’s conviction helps us to recognize our sin so that we can repent of it and walk in the freedom of Jesus Christ.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”  -Romans 8:1

This is all the process of our sanctification, of being changed as we grow in Him.

We are still being sanctified in our spirits, sanctified in our souls, and sanctified in our bodies. Our minds are being renewed; we are being changed spiritually. I like to see it as a mental cleansing from within our mindset. As a result, we will be in health! That is God’s plan for us. Our part is to embrace His truth, repent of following any aspect of the law of sin, and allow Him to transform us into His image. We are saved by God’s forgiveness and mercy, but we walk out our sanctification on a daily basis. That is why God gives us the responsibility of believing the truth of the Word when it comes to our health and healing.

Now, God is not going to live your life for you! He's not going to knock you over the head with a board if you slip and think a wrong thought. Matter fact, I don't like the mental image so many pople have today of what God must be like. I see God as a loving Father, who is grieved when we believe the lies of the enemy, and You will have to take ownership of you mind to have this victory. You need to activate your mind, and you need to decide to wake up. You must decide to be an overcomer and take action, to face the challenges of life and defeat them. You must embrace the process of Mindset Sanctification, and the fact that God has given us freedom of Christ.

As I have said before, and I am sure you probably have questions, that 80 percent of all diseases and syndromes are spiritually related. Therefore, there are 20 percent that are not. However, if you have a disease, wouldn’t you want to search the Scriptures and your heart? Wouldn’t you go to the Lord with this request from Psalm 139?

“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting”  -Psalm 139:23–24

If what is keeping you from your healing is a sin, which is the opposite of the Word of God, wouldn’t you want to confess it and move on to a life of wholeness and health? I know that I would, and I have. It is a mindset of Freedom, Prosperity, Love, and Authenticity.

I want to invite you reach out and submit an application for personal coaching if you feel like you are ready to explore your personal mindset. I am not a preachy type of person, and I promise to honor your faith and allow you to believe what you decide to believe. I know for myself, I had to come to a place where I could look at other options, because what I was doing, jsut wasn't giving me the results I wanted.

Let me share an observation of mine, and how I watched my own relatives health turn to sickness. Several members of my family heard a false rumor about another famly member. They decided to believe it, and not seek the truth.  Every Family member that I know of that believed the false rumor, came down with some weird deseases, and have tried to find the causes. They were healthy as young people, and once they heard and believed the rumor, they all had different types of mental, physical, and hormonal issues. I am not God, and don't pretend to be, But I can tell you, I don't want to go down that path. My other family Members, who sought out the truth, have had great health, and have enjoyed years of prosperity, and virtually now major illnesses or allergies. You are free to decide for yourself, but I choose to believe there are often connections to our mental state, and what we think or believe internally, and that it can affect our physical health and well being.
